We also can not ship to other countries. Bags of Old Dutch snack items do not ship well via an air service. The altitude causes the air to expand and bags to pop open during transit. Sale Prices that are listed or available at our brick and mortar store do not apply to our On-Line site.
Shipping Potato Chips and Snacks
Old Dutch snack products do not weigh much, however it has volume. The web site ordering program gets a shipping charge directly from U.P.S. and add a small handling charge to cover the shipping box and labor.
We have also looked at other carriers such as U.S. Mail, Fed-Ex and the shipping charges were the same or more.
The flat rate boxes that the post office have are too small for the product, so we are not able to use those either.
We have to repack all the products into a stronger box than they originally come in, otherwise the bags might be crushed during the shipment. Food items carry a small profit margin, therefore we are not able to subsidize or reduce the shipping costs that other major on-line web sites can do to make the shipping free or at a very reduced amount.
We have most products in-stock and will ship the order within a couple of days. You may select any quantity of products, mix or match bags of chips for your order.
We have different size boxes that we will use for your order, so ordering cases of any bags of snacks is not necessary.

HISTORY ABOUT OLD DUTCH FOODS: "Old Dutch Foods, Inc." was founded as "Old Dutch Products Co." in 1934, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Potatoes were peeled, sliced, and fried, by one man, in his home. The finished product was hand packaged and the chips were then distributed and sold to the retail trade from his passenger car. By 1937 the business had grown enough to require larger quarters and operations were moved to a building at 412 So. Third Street, in Minneapolis. At that time Old Dutch employed about 25 people. During World War II the company name was changed to "Old Dutch Foods", to identify itself with the food industry, largely due to the fact that it was often confused with the unrelated nationally advertised household cleanser, "Old Dutch Cleanser". Old Dutch Foods added to its manufacturing facilities and sales territory in 1952 by purchasing the potato chip division of "Potato Products Co.", in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. This plant operated until 1983. In 1955, Old Dutch Foods began doing business with a Canadian candy and tobacco company in Winnipeg, Manitoba to distribute its products in Canada. This business grew rapidly and in 1959 Old Dutch opened a plant in Winnipeg to manufacture for the Canadian market. The Canadian company became known as "Old Dutch Foods, Ltd." in 1968. The United States company was incorporated under the name "Old Dutch Foods, Inc." in 1967. In 1968, Old Dutch Foods, Inc. moved its Minneapolis operation to a new plant, warehouse and office building in Roseville, Minnesota. It continues to operate from this facility and a new corn product production facility in St. Anthony, Minnesota. Today Old Dutch employs about 480 people at the United States office, plants and sales departments. By 1970, its Canadian business had expanded enough to require construction of a second plant in Calgary, Alberta. Today its Winnipeg and Calgary plants plus a corn production plant, in Airdrie, Alberta, produce Old Dutch products for distribution to all of western Canada. Old Dutch Foods, Inc. manufactures Potato Chips, Kettle Cooked Potato Chips, Popcorn, Tortilla Chips, and distributes other snack foods including: Dips, Salsas, Corn Chips, Pretzels, Nuts, Low/Reduced/No Fat Snacks, Bac’N’Puffs, Crunchy Curls, Caramel Corn, Meat Sticks and Puffcorn Curls.
